  1. The End Records, already known for its eclectic cutting-edge roster, has signed the legendary Voivod for the USA. Hailed as one of the most important groundbreakers in metal, Voivod's ever-evolving progressive mindset is a perfect fit for The End.
The band will enter the studio in the fall of 2005. Release date for the band's 11th studio album is not yet confirmed, but should appear sometime in early 2006.
Drummer Michel Langevin (aka Away) confirms that the band has completed the writing of the album, describing the material as "heavy" and "experimental".
Regarding the new partnership, Voivod states: "We are very proud to join The End Records in their quest to promote modern heavy music. A perfect home for a band like Voivod.."

  2. Coolness, although I haven't really followed them for a while. Are they still any good? I loved Nothingface and Dimension Hatrõss.

  4. I was waiting for someone else to that besides me, i heard a rumor that the new stuff will be a return to the great older albums. The last album was a bid to show up metallica.

  5. Nah, not really. They (or the recordcompany) just used Newstedt to pimp the band a bit, but I think it was in the vein of The Outer Limits.

Didn't have the awesome catchiness of that nor Angelrat (one of my favs, after all, it took me a while to realise that).

  6. Having heard several albums from these guys I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is so good about them.

I read somewhere that they will be leaning more towards their Nothingface era sound. Which would be great! I'll believe it when I hear it though.

All Voivod is awesome (yes, even Angel Rat, and the two albums they did with Eric Forrest), well that techno remix album was gay but yeah, Andreas has signed one of the greatest bands of all time! Go Canada!

Now all Joseph has to do is sign Canadian act In Vein to coincide with this event !

    That's huge!

I didn't really get into their latest album, but I still have some hopes left for them though. I was actually kinda left missing what they had going on on Phobos.
