  1. thought id post about a friends band, this is a pretty damn cool act. i need to buy the cd myself though. anyone heard Keep of Kalessin? i havent yet.

Here's the track "Unholy Communion" from our album "Chtonian Lifecode":

    CHTON: new drummer announced

Vegar "Vyl" Larsen, also in Keep of Kalessin, is now our permanent drummer
in CHTON. Vegar played with us all through autumn 2004, at a.o. the Hole
in the Sky-festival and the Southern Discomfort-festival, as
session-drummer during our former drummer Vidar's absence. Vegar has now
replaced Vidar permanently, as Vidar has quit CHTON to focus on other
activities. Vegar has already contributed to the songwriting, and we have
several new songs ready for an upcoming album! The music isn't very
different from what can be found on our debut "Chtonian Lifecode" in
essence - it's still dark and brutal Death Metal!

CHTON is also looking for a new label! We signed for only one album with
the UK label Retribute Records, and we've chosen not to resign with them
for our future releases. We're planning to have material for a new album
ready by autumn 2005. Contact-info can be found at www.chton.com

    etc.

  3. Yeah but we only speak from time to time :) I like that song alot, kinda want to hear the rest of the album.

I just thought id help spread the word around so they can land a deal. The second album is always better than the debut with this kinda music i think! haha.

  4. I've seen them in some Polish magazines, and I think this band played here in Poland several times. Their music is ok, I wonder how will sound the new CD.

It is an amazing relatively new Norwegian black metal band. On their latest effort, the Reclaim MCD, Frost plays the drums although he is not a permanent member and Attila (now in Mayhem) takes care of the vocals. Overall the music is very fast, melodic and symphonic (without the use of keyboards).

  7. I think Obsidian of Keep of Kalessin was one of the session Satyricon members that raped Canadian gal.

Hmmm... isn't there some keyboards now and then? Not the typical black metal keyboards, but I do recall some keyboards.

Btw, I think they started up in the mid nineties, and then they had a longer break before the new MCD was released, which is quite good!

  9. The Reclaim mcd of KoK is one of the best BM releases to have come out in several years. This is what Mayhem should have sounded like post-Mysteriis. Same atmosphere, only more brutal.

  10. Guys, Keep of Kalessin formed in 1993, released one demo in 1996, and their debut album in 1997. The second in 1999. And now this new EP. There hardly new.
