FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - ROBOTIC EMPIRE SIGNS KAYO DOT

Boston, Massachusetts' heavy metal innovators KAYO DOT have signed to
Richmond, Virginia based label Robotic Empire for the band's sophomore
album. With their debut "Choirs of the Eye" album released on John Zorn's
Tzadik label, it is little surprise that this band is a creative force to be
reckoned with... however, the true scope and sonic genius that is KAYO DOT
somehow nearly passed all of our ears. Enter Robotic Empire, with a fevered
love for the intense pieces created by the band, and plans to deliver their
phenomenal second full-length to as many intelligent music fans that are
    willing to listen.

Almost impossible to justly put into words, KAYO DOT is both difficult to
call a metal band and difficult to NOT call a metal band, blending a wide
array of haunting atmospheric elements with ultimately unreal and massive
climaxes. Not quite in the soft-loud-soft way that many powerful bands
operate (GODSPEED, MOGWAI, etc.) but more akin to classical compositions.
The lengthy creations crafted by KAYO DOT flow fluidly between immense
beauty and the harshest, heaviest monolithic sounds imaginable. Being an
eight piece, including several guitars, trumpet and a small string section,
it's a mighty endeavor that few musicians could pull off with such finesse,
but KAYO DOT emerge triumphantly and their upcoming album is shaping to be
    nothing short of truly phenomenal.

The To-Be-Titled full-length album will begin tracking at Zing Studios
(UNEARTH, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) this August, with current plans for a fall
release. For those unfortunate souls who have yet to experience this true
beast of a band, a full high-quality ten-minute MP3 of "Marathon", the first
track from their "Choirs of the Eye" album can be heard here:

  3. So I remembered my dream i had last night on the way to work. It woke me up in the middle of the night because i was like "why the fuck did i dream about this" it was just too weird, i was going to remember the dream i told myself to do so when i took a piss at 3am, and thank goodness that i did because this post is just amazingly perfect for it, the same day too.

So in my dream i was looking through the phone book as if it were a sunday paper with advertisments and deals (last night i was looking for a good place to get takeout, since im preparing to move) So In my dream i saw this ad for PINK POKEMON GAMEBOY CARTRIDGE and if you buy it this weekend you get a free KAYO-DOT cd. i swear to christ man. What was even weirder is it made sense, the cd itself had a WB (warner brothers) logo on the back, because i went to the store to check it out. So i was like, wow kayo-dot sold out. Then i woke up.

I am not joking at all... this was one bizarre dream, and having twixta post about it this morning only makes it weirder. I need to hone my skills of dreams to a few days before shit happens so i can begin predicting stuff for money haha!

well, robotic empire is a surprise,

but they're an ok label. The Isis remix lp's really put them on the map. Plus they did some other ok releases in the past.

Also of note... Kayo Dot's drummer Sam, Gutterman has left for unspecified reasons and the band's looking for a replacement.
